Kerry McHugh-Upton
Growing up in my family’s retail home furnishings business; McHugh’s Ken Schoenfeld Furniture, I knew at a young age I wanted to become an interior designer.
I graduated with Bachelors of Art in Interior Design and began my career working in the family business. This afforded me the ability to not only work directly with clients, but also to learn about both the retail and manufacturing side of the business.
I am certified through the Council for Qualification of Residential Interior Design (CQRID) and am a Professional Member of the Interior Design Society (IDS) in which I have received several design awards. I have also participated in several Olympia Master Builders (OMB) Street of Dreams projects and have been honored to receive numerous “Best of Design” awards.
When our family business closed in 2012, I began my own interior design business and today, I not only work with clients to help them select their interior furnishings but I also work with architects and contractors on construction and design of both both residential and commercial projects.
I enjoy all aspects of interior design; from selecting paint color to redesigning a new kitchen, no job is too large or small.
I reside in the Olympia area, enjoy geneology, reading, gardening, travelling and spending time with my husband, Steve.
